NEVER at anytime, anywhere, allow your firearm to point at any other person.
Upon first entering to the club room ALL firearms must be securely cased and must remain so until called to the range proper.
Once in the range proper firearms may only be uncased under supervision of the RO who will prove each one safe.
ONLY when RO instructs LOAD AND MAKE READY shall any firearm be handled.
REGARDLESS of position of Firing point NO FIREARM shall be touched whilst ANYONE is forward of any firing point
MUZZLE of any firearm shall only ever be pointed in a safe direction down range.
Shooting shall ONLY commence at RO’s instruction
ANYONE with a firearm malfunction during a course of fire must make sure the weapon is pointed in a safe direction and raise a hand to draw the RO’s attention
When firing is complete a shooter wishing to leave the range proper must place the firearm on the firing point, ACTION OPEN OR BREECH PLUG IN, ready to be proved clear and safe by the RO
Firearms must then be cased and then may be removed from the range proper to the club room.
If the Range Officer perceives a problem arising, he will shout “STOP STOP STOP”. All shooters must then put down their firearms immediately and await further instruction.
Only the RO may draw a firearm from the armoury and will transport it in a safe condition to the range proper for use. After use the RO will prove the firearm safe and return it to the armoury.
The armoury should be kept locked at all times unless the RO is drawing ammunition or a firearm for immediate use.
